ER - Staring Sarah Locks as the skanky looking patient!

So realising that my allergic reaction hadn't disappeared over night, as I had hoped it would, I thought I should visit a doctor. Now lucky for me, when I get an allergic reaction these are my key issues: I puff up (this time my left eye won the puffy contest, I was left with no eyelid creases - thats how puffy it got), I itch like a mofo, my skin peels off, leaving sores & a beautiful pink layer revealed to the outside world. My throat swells a little, as does my neck (the rugby players would have been jealous of my neck structure today), but over all, going on my previous reactions, nothing is life threatening. I stroll into the doctors. His response - go to hospital now. See, he's not seen my bodys reactions before & i think is just hoping that I don't go into anaphalactic shock right there. So that was the end of that visit. I go back to my place, throw a few things in a bag & head to Prince of Wales in Randwick, where funnily enough, I had been 2 weeks previous to see an immunologist. Hospital staff were lovely, quick & laughed at all my jokes about my gorgeous face. But this time I could see out of my eyes again, just. They gave me a first dose of phenergan. We dicussed my issues further & they also decided to give me the added boost of the steroid prednisolone. I hate taking steroids for skin issues, but today, I would have taken anything to relieve my issues. So I get to take more phenergan in a bit & more steroids tmw. I look almost like a human again. Yay. I feel a bit smilier too. Oh oh yeah - I got the cool hospital bracelet too - which I'm keeping on til I decide if I'm going to work tmw or now.

Hope everyone else had fun weekends to make up for the loss of mine.

Toodle pip.

Omigod! That sounds horrible. Do you know what caused it so you can avoid it in the future?
