Life in Bondi

Is wonderful! The water is still a tad brisk for my liking. I went in twice over the weekend, today my swim was all over in 5 minutes. Too chilly.

Mates SM & L visited yesterday morn for breaky. So our mission, to find a good cafe. Bondi is loaded with cafes, and I've only eaten at about 3 places. One was BEYOND bad, I don't rememember the name, but it's been blacklisted. So we stumbled across a little cafe called Brave @ 68 Gould Street. Perfecto. Faritrade coffee. I'm not sure if it's 100% organic or not. But damn, it's good. The Carni Breakfast, (for us canivores, not travelling circus folk) was fabulous, and soo filling. Toast, chipolatas, tomato, perfectly poached eggs mushrooms and a lovely potato cake. Mmmm. Heaven. And the watermelon, mint & pear juice was devine. $21 well spent. (Yes, canadians, not Nazi breakfast cafe nearby, had to go yuppy). I hardly ate for the rest of the day - a few choc chips & 2 slices of toast for dinner. How's that for amazing. Me going without 3 meals & countless snacks? I have a feeling it might be the antibiotics. Damn I hope they clear up my chest infection (gross huh?). Def over my cold saga (week 6 now I believe). It's yuck. I sound like I'm a 40 cigarettes a day type smoker. Soo attractive....

Today the folks & bro & gf came down and we went to Doyles by the Beach at Watsons Bay. Lovely little spot, the charge for it too. I had a lovely piece of fish with an even tasty mango, tomato, red onion & corriander (cilantro) salad. Lush. My chocolate cake that followed wasn't quite as perfect as lunch. My over has no temperature markings on it, so I kind of guesstimated the temp, turns out I under guesstimated and we had a VERY moist cake. It's still delish if you like uber rich chocolatey things as much as me.

So that's it from the Big Brown Box in Bondi today.
